God Is Bogus - Compilation Tape - 1986

a very strange and DIY "slash" outsider compilation tape from 1986... I lost the track list to this a million years ago or maybe i never had it because as the tape ends you you can hear a one Jerry Lehan the 3rd giving out info for more tapes and starts to reel off band names and then the tape cuts off so you can never hear who the bands were..... i've searched high and low for ANY info on this tape and can find NOTHING.... The only thing i could find was that Stony Brook University Library has a copy in the Turmoil Radio Collection Archive..... I sent an email and heard nothing back. I highly doubt the adress that Jerry Lehan III gives at the end of the tape is still relevant...... Does anyone have any info on this very cool/strange/odd and awesome freakout of a DIY comp....??? I'd love to know the deal. I think i traded tapes with Jerry Lehan back in the day but can't remember..... There are a few punky type tunes but for the most part these are weird keyboard driven songs of an odd & unknown nature to my ear, but a few of these tunes a really like. I just numbered the track on each side. MAYBE someone will google this shit and know something about it.....

On The Edge Comp Tape

Great comp cassette that mixes up some great East Coast Hardcore; DIRGE, LUDICHRIST, SOCIAL DECAY, NAUSEA & A.P.P.L.E. with some different type sounds of bands THE PLAGUE , DAOINE SIDHE, MEASURING OF TIME AND METHODS & Harry Baggs own MECHANICAL BRIDE.

I own this but THE WIZARD over @ TERMINAL ESCAPE has already done the work on this, downloading both sides already so head over his way to grab this thing.

Weak Link - Self Titled EP 2010

Weak Link from St. John's Newfoundland. My friend Griff turned me on to these guys and I support.

Full Speed Ahead - Demo

IMHO Full Speed Ahead were one of the best of the newer hardcore bands. That is not to say that these guys were new school because they weren't. Guitarist Mike Schweigert is an old NJHC guy from the mid/late 80's and was in a ton of bands. And bass player Will was in NJ Noise makers Codger among others. Drummer Pete used to hook me up w/ drinks @ the local bar and is kinda funny and chubby. These guys keep it OLD SCHOOL on this tape. Nothing crossover or metal about it. This is was Hardcore SHOULD sound like!!! If you close your eyes its like 1985 all over again!

Time's Up - Life - 1993 Demo

1993 NJHC demo by Time's Up. A couple of these guys and a few friends jumped me at a Dead Guy show in Jersey once. I deserved it. I threw a bottle @ another kid and i took my lumps for it. No hard feelings. By 1993 hardcore had changed so much for me too really care too much. This is not my hardcore, but it has its place.

Not sure of all the members on this tape because none are listed and this is before any "official" releases but this is the previous band of Chris and John from Burnt by the Sun. Another GREAT NJ band.

Time's Up - Abduction

Time's Up - Falling Apart

Time's Up - Pipe Works

Notorious Grumble - Demo

Some great drunk and sloppy hardcore punk from New Jersey. I still drink w/ drummer Timothy Bleary on a reg. Phil Sick is a good dude too. Shanty Mick can fuck off....

Static Season - Demo -1992

Think part Rush, part VoiVod, part Die Kreuzen and throw in a bunch of Drugs and you might get what Static Season sounded like. Sorta proggy, psychedlic heavy metal. These guys were great live.

Static Season were:

Jay Smetana - Drums
Ken Cruz - Guitar
Mike Ortiz - Bass, Vocals

Recorded April 1992 at: Stardust Studios, Upper Montclair, NJ
Engineered by Jeff Chambers

Jacko, Godspeed & Human Remains get a shout out in the thank you list. Nice.

I wonder where these guys are now???
